Picture Story: N*E*R*D x Terence Rushin Photography x Cuervo Games

Now here's a little story. So me, @Style_Shari, @DayyumGina, and @r0bynelise go to the show. We get there RIGHT when NERD is about to go on. Great timing. And the show is AMAZING! At one point a girl starts crowd surfing and she gets dropped. So Pharell says "HOl up, hold up! Did i just see a girl try to crowdsurf and yall dropped her? naw! not at an NERD show! Try it again!" So the same girl starts crowdsurfing again, and this time everybody was determined that ol girl was NOT gonna fall until she had worked her way through the whole crowd. Pharell even "suggested" that everybody start a moshpit. That's my kind of entertainer right there. But I guess I shouldn't expect anything less from a dude who wrote the line "It's a raw night, who wants to bar fight??"

Atlanta's TAKERS premiere... and the VIP after"party"

Straight Premium Gas...Nate Walka's Listening Party

New Rick Ross "KING BOSS"
:in my Smokie from Friday voice: Dammmmmnnn Ricky!! Didn't even give us time to recuperate from the summertime, rideout masterpiece that was "Teflon Don" before he hit us with this. I'm not mad at him. AT ALL. Check out the new track, King Boss. Supposedly Ricky Rozay is going in on Slim Thug with this line:
" She dated Slim Thug, but now she f*ck with me, She finally made it to the biggest boss, luckily"
But Sasha F. Thumper doesn't support or entertain rap beefs. I support music.

Don't Talk About It, Be About It

Next step: Name of the blog. We’re looking out the window, and I throw out the word Skyline. Shari turns that into rooftop. The Rooftop! Who doesn’t love a downtown rooftop?? Standing on top of a building, white sofas all around, music blasting, drinks, maybe a pool, looking out over the city you plan on conquering. And not on some pretentious Diddy-esque type vibe, but just you and the people you truly love to be around, and share time with. Girls with cut-off shorts on, and dudes with tattoo sleeves and dreads.
So here’s the setup. Taryn: Music. Shari: Fashion. Both trying to pave careers in Public Relations and survive during this Post-Grad period, in the city that I love: Atlanta. I like to imagine that we’re two ninja assassins on a mission, and Shari’s weapon is her amazing sense of style, and a pair of razor sharp heels that she can kill you with, while my weapon is a sword. No gimmicks or trick weapons for me. Just straight slicing and dicing dudes. Then I walk away from the scene in slow motion, all black everything, 5 inch heels, and hair blowing in the wind. Where’d the wind come from?? Who knows. But back to our regularly scheduled programming.
My favorite artists are Ray J, Vanilla Ice, and Young Berg. Just kidding! You were about to exit off this page, weren’t you?? But yeah, I’m not going to list my favorite artists [:cough: OutKast, the whole Dungeon Family, Organized Noize :cough:] because we’ll be here all day. And as a dude once told me about myself, “you don’t like to talk about it, you like to be about it.” So since you’ll be visiting our blog at least once a week (RIGHT?? Right!), you’ll eventually get a feel for the artists that inspire me. For now, just know that my first love in life has been and will always be MUSIC. When I was younger I played the violin, and ever since then, it’s been a wrap. I have amazing memories of riding around in my mom’s ‘89 Tercel listening to Goodie Mob’s “Get Rich to This”, riding in my aunt’s ’96 Maxima listening to Bootsy Collins, any and everything produced by Timbaland, and soaking up her love for all things Prince. I may not be a musician, but I’m definitely a certified Music Connoisseur.
I’m excited about this venture, and about the chance to share this time in my life with people that are just as passionate about music as I am. In the words of Wiz Khalifa: inhale “Yeahhh BITCH” exhale."

The Runway

THE RUNWAY
...I bet you’re wondering how I got into fashion/pr? Doesn’t make sense, right?
Well, fashion was my true high school sweetheart…after all, that’s when I really started thinking about working in the industry (even though I was drawing clothes on the playground when I was a child). Back then; I would sneak to go visit my friend’s mother at her boutique down the street from school… But who knew, that later down the road I would get to realize that the fashion industry was not for the timid and weak…
I didn’t start on my first REAL inside track to the “industry” until my junior year of college. I was a rep for a few LA and NY fashion brands in a showroom at the Atlanta Apparel Mart. At first, I ABSOLUTELY hated the constant pressure of buyers wanting this and that, while also messing up the showroom…but I eventually got used to it after a while.
The next year, I quickly adapted to the fast pace industry and became a stylist assistant for a high-profile image development firm, which I still currently create look books and assist with editorial pulls for. I got the first taste of “tending” to A-list clients…and believe it or not, I can count on one hand how many times people TRIED to belittle me.
I soon became a workaholic and decided to ALSO currently take on a position as the senior PR assistant to an Atlanta-based pr agency that specializes in fashion, beauty, entertainment, and lifestyle. And since then, I have continued to master my craft in my own lane… As a rebel in heels, I am challenging the “fashion degree only” ideology and strategically making my way into the Garment District of NYC, even if I have to go through H*LL. …So watch and learn from my runway.
